thinking about a career in law enforcement

Police Academy Seminar

At CISS Investigations our private investigators all have law enforcement backgrounds and most importantly have been all honorably discharged. With our background we wanted to offer people that have ever thought about becoming a police officer the chance to find out more about the process and qualifications required.

Law Enforcement Hiring Process

The police academy is not something someone just goes and signs up for. It is nothing like the comedy movie that was popular in the 1980’s. You have to go through a number of steps just to qualify for a 1st interview.  Then you have to pass a number of different test and background checks and more interviews along with your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors being interviewed sometimes as well. This process is like no other, take a doctor’s career for instance you would be required to go to college, medical school, intern and pass your exams then you will receive your diploma and license to practice medicine. In law enforcement your journey is much different. This process of just trying to get into the police academy can take more than 6 months on average.  Even if you pass all of the test, background checks, you can still be cut because this career is extremely competitive.  It’s possible that you could be interviewing against 500 other people for one open position.  It’s a fact that you may just not make it for a number of different reasons. Once you are accepted in the police academy is not an easy academy to graduate from, in fact many fail or are kicked out for a number of reasons.  That is why we offer this course!  First to see if it really is a path you want to go and if you qualify.  You may find out you don’t qualify because of prior drug use, DUI, etc.  So before you start the process come to one of our seminars and find out what the process is going to be and what your expectations are going to be.  With our Pre-police academy seminar we examine the students desire and qualifications in serving and protecting their community.
